THE RELATIONSHIP OF COFFEE CONSUMPTION WITH HYPERTENSION

Every year hypertension is the leading cause of death worldwide. The this disease due to modifiable factors and lifestyle. Currently, there are many people with in Kupang, ranking third out 10 most common diseases. kupang influence lifestyle, namely consuming fatty foods such as pork, se'i (cured meat by smoking), excessive alcohol consumption, high sodium foods. Lack exercise habits, consumption caffeine. habit drinking coffee currently popular. There shops city Kupang. Coffee a favorite drink besides alcohol. This research quantitative analytical descriptive design. approach used cross sectional study. number samples 37 people. Instrument form questionnaire. Analysis data analysis test. results obtained 93.3% respondents consume packaged or that processed factory. who suffer from category 25 (67.6%). Most moderate 20 (54.1%), mild 14 (37.8%), severe hypertension. 3 (8,1%). one sample t test p value 0.00. It can be concluded significant relationship between group incidence hypertension, depending on amount content caffeine consumen.
